Why are you calling it 'the NHS App'?  I thought it was more to do with the private company that Boris contracted it out to instead of allowing local people with local knowledge to take care of tracking and tracing in each area?
HELP!!!

Probably because its full name is The NHS Covid-19 App and is a development of the NHS App and the Google/Apple framework

Yes, but what's in a name? Who is responsible for developing it and, presumably, making sure it works?

My iPad is on 13.5 but apparently you can’t use this app on an iPad. I only have an old phone which I struggle to hear on but can text. It’s for emergencies only so no chance with that. It really bugs me that everyone assumes you have an all singing and dancing mobile phone. I’ll have to find a friend who will assist in the purchase and set up of a newer phone that can have 13.5 on it.

Well to say it is presumptuous is putting it mildly.
Many old people are not computer literate ,don’t own a mobile phone
and so are precluded from getting the information l.

They really feel they could not cope .
It is wrong to thus in a way withold the information from a sizeable number of the population.
It all goes so quickly , and these people are being overlooked.
I am surprised Age UK dies not protest!
Viktoria.

The app was developed by app developers for their client, the NHS. It also went through Beta-testing prior to launch to the wider public.

Just downloaded to my 2017 IPhone SE. Appears to be working.

I have had the app running for 27 hours on my phone and just checked battery use over that time. The total battery drain for the period was 25% which is almost the same as when I did not have the app on my phone so power drain is not a problem.
