Hi
Nephew?
The nephew may be the son of Edith Bird who married Arthur Douglas?
Not all of people's names are recorded on all documents.
(An) Arthur Douglas may have married (an) Edith Bird in 1899/Sep
Her full name may have been (something like) Edith Sarah Bird and married under the name Sarah?

What is the starting point for this exercise? Is it the young man, H Bird?

My question was to find a marriage between an Arthur Douglas and Edith ?
The 1911 Census shows Arthur and Edith living with Harry Bird - nephew in St Pancras London  I used the surname Bird to see if that would help.  Hope this helps

What we are wondering is why you are looking at this 1911 entry, does it connect to your tree somehow.

Hello Ray
I'm not convinced that Edith would be Harry's mother as, if we look at the ages on the 1911, Edith would have been 12 when she had him

Hello Rosie
Yes, I'm looking at the Douglas family and their connection to the Bird family re: Harry being a nephew of Arthur

I had assumed from your posts that you do not know who Arthur Douglas was, ie where / when he was born and who his parents were.  Is this not the case

Do you know definitely that Harry Bird is Arthur's nephew and not Edith's nephew? Relationships should be the connection to the head of house but it is rare to see "wife's nephew or niece" when that is really the case.

Yes, that's right Rosie.  All I have to go on is the 1911 Census that shows Arthur, Edith and Harry living in the same household

Hello Lizzie   Harry could be Edith's nephew, her sister may have married a Bird but, again I would prob need to know the name of Edith's/her sister's maiden name which takes me back to a marriage between Arthur Douglas and Edith.  I've looked at all marriages between an Arthur Douglas and Edith ? around 1900 in Birmingham and London
