I've just looked at the link to the Douglas History site and am amazed that Robert had brothers who became eminent Doctors! Something interesting to write about now...

could I ask if you could look at the family tree on Ancestry please to determine who Robert Johnstone's parents were. On the link I looked at it said George Johnstone/ Grizel (Grace) Irving but I've just found a baptism on FamilySearch that suggested George Johnstone/Agnes Irving.

I'm confused now!

The best thing would be to get a copy of the death for Robert Johnstone 1856 to see what parents are mentioned
Some tree's have his parents as George Johnstone Grizel Irving
Another tree has George Johnstone and Agnes Irving

Grizzel Johnstone born 14 June 1802 Middlebie Dumfries
