Hi jimrod
Welcome to Rootschat.
Do you have any further information on Susan?  Do you know if she married, when/where she was born, and where she lived and died?  There's a birth date of 25/4/1871 in Clones on FamilySearch for a Susan Rudden - father John & mother Rose McClinton.
Also on FamilySearch there are many pages of Petty Sessions from courts in Clones, Belturbet, Bawnboy & Cootehill (Cavan) which feature a James Rudden where he is mostly the defendant, but also complainant or witness.  The images for these are apparently on Find My Past.
There are a few immigration and naturalization records on FamilySearch for both Susan and James.
What other information do you have for James?
It may be beneficial to post this topic on the Monaghan board.
