Group Photo NEAVE family from Norfolk
« on: Monday 28 September 20 13:51 BST (UK) »
Hi

I have this photo which is of Herbert George Neave and Emma Mary Shearing (front row) John Herbert Neave and his wife Amelia Cooper (to his right)  The other lady to the left on the back row is unknown.  All lived in Norfolk, England.
Can someone give me some idea of the date for this photo.

Thanks

I'm not much with dating, but here's a quick cleanup.

Welcome to Rootschat, Cspencer  :)

I would estimate circa 1917 +/-1.  The broad brimmed hats that the younger women are wearing  became fashionable around 1917. It could be a little later (end of WW1) as they look quite happy.

I first guessed at 1914' ish. My first assumption was that the men had enlisted and that the

photograph had been taken before they left for the war.  But only a guess.

Agree with Gadget, 2nd. half of the war.
I see dad has put on his old uniform.
He's wearing the pre 1902 pattern tunic & son post 1902 pattern (Norfolk Regt.)

Thank you to everyone who has replied to my post regarding this photo, sorry it's taken a long time to respond.
Thanks to John-76 for the photo cleanup.  I am very grateful for that
Since posting the photo I have found out a few more details. (For anyone that's interested)
John and Amelia married 6 June 1916 at Smallburgh registary Office. Amelia's father Theophilus Elden Cooper died June 1916 and was buried on the 10th June 1916.  This could explain Amelia's black clothing in the photo.
John's sister Ethel Neave was 19 in 1916 and is the most likely candidate for the mystery lady on the back row.
