Problems scanning photo for restoration
« on: Wednesday 30 September 20 19:37 BST (UK) »
I have a photo of me that I would like restored, however, try as I might I cannot reduce the filesize enough to post it.

I've scanned it as colour (its b/w), at 300 dpi, cropped it and I still can't get it to the required filesize - its still 986kb.

I've read the tutorial and followed the suggestions, but still can't reduce it enough.  Could anyone help?

Hi Lisa,

You just need to reduce the image physical size a little so it is slightly smaller to reach under 900kb, so if it is 1200 pixels wide take it to say 1100 pixels wide. Hope that this helps.

Regards

Sarah

I did find some windows photo editing software thing on the pc, with an option to save as and reduce size. Tried that, got a blank image!

I’ll have a go tomorrow, too late to get annoyed with computers now.

It’s a good photo - it has garden gnomes as well as me!
