Possible marriage in 1853 Newport Pagnell - where 2 of the 4 listed are William Walker and Elizabeth Holt.  (The other pair listed - William Brinklow and Jane Kent - appear to have married each other). Unfortunately, cannot see any details of marriage online.

Elizabeth Sarah Holt bp.24/10/1830 Bicester, Oxfordshire, dau. of Thomas and Sarah.

William Walker bp.30/1/1831 Chalgrove, Bedfordshire, son of John and Mary.

Jackski -- if you are looking for the marriage which has been found to Elizabeth Holt on the Civil Registration Index - you need to be aware that William is shown as Willm.

Wow!!!!!!! Absolutely fantastic work, all of you! You have filled in so many blanks for me there. I'm extremely grateful. Many many thanks!
(As for Willm - it makes you wonder if they wrote this stuff at the time, just to confuse future researchers!!)   ;D

William Walker bp.30/1/1831 Chalgrove, Bedfordshire, son of John and Mary.

Morning , as per the Beds Surnames Index from BFHS, the parents abode was Toddington at the time of the baptism. Possibly they were John Walker who married Mary Willis at Chalgrave on 12 Oct 1821. At that time John was a batchelor of Leighton Buzzard & Mary was a spinster. as well as William they baptised further 4 children at Chalgrave.

Elizabeth on 3 Apr 1824 abode Chalgrave, she was buried there 2 Dec 1838 where abode was Toddington
George on 11 Sep 1825 abode Chalgrave
Ann on 23 Sep 1827 abode Chalgrave
John on 5 Jul 1834 where abode was Tebworth, he was buried at Chalgrave later that year 18 Aug 1834 age 9 months, again abode Tebworth

Above info as per Family Search & FindMyPast + Surnames Index CD

Regards

John

Jackski -- if you order the marriage certificate for William and Elizabeth - you will obtain the fathers' names and occupations for both of them. You will then have definite evidence to take you backwards with those lines.

By the way - going back to William being shown as Willm on the marriage registration -- if you subscribe to subscription sites such as Ancestry or Find My Past - you can use wild cards (ie an asterisk) for names which are commonly abbreviated.

For example Wil* -- that will bring up any letters after those first 3. Elizabeth as well can be abbreviated to Eliz. Hence use a wild card - Eliz*.

Please forgive me if you know all that - it's just that you mentioned the 'Willm' earlier. I am not sure if you can use wild cards on FreeBMD.

Yes I did know about wildcards but you can't use them on freebmd. I'm beginning to think freebmd isn't all that good.
