William H Jones b Apr 1874 d1955
  m Sarah Ellis1875 1937

He had 7 children and doesn't seem to link to my JONES families

According to tree his eldest daughters mother was Jane PRICE

Her given parents don't match my PRICE. Family

she was not married to William H Jones publican of red lion pub Trydden but worked there as a cook in 1899 when her daughter Beatrice May Price-jones was born

I do have a Jane Price on my tree who married Thomas Parry in 1902 aged 30 she had 6 children her parents are Abraham PRICE and Martha JONES

So contact with tree owner revealed that Beatrice May PRICE JONES was brought up be her birth father and wife Sarah ELLIS
Who he.d married shortly after Beatrice.s birth family story was that Jane wanted too much money for upkeep .

He had wrong parents for Jane PRICE because DNA links us to Janes mother Martha Ann Jones only 27cm but our shared matches are all through this line.

The reason I double checked this connection was that Jane's elder sister was with her grandparents age 12=at another pub Rhos y Crown in Llanorman 1881+was a barmaid and waitress in 1891
She  had two  PRICE children Harriet elizabeth PRICE 1889 +1897who were adopted by William Lloyd + Margaret ROBERTS
But kept their surname PRICE

Harriet E PRICE went on to marry John william  WILLIAMS
1885 helpfully a tree owner  with 57cm DNA match has added a tag to her profile " adopted "

Link to topic on how DNA helped find other matches

No gadget I imagine that is incredibly complicated .
What era do you go back to before aps kick in ?
Patriarch who links all these matches is Joseph Jones b 1827

It would be good to have DNA links or more paper trail to take me back to his grandfather John Jones 1756
Via father William Jones 1801

I wonder if William JONES  1838 Tryddyn ,coalminer. father of William H publican of red lion is actually connected to my lot too

Oops that paragraph is totally wrong because josephs father was the william b 1784  in post 1

& guess what ...

I DO have links to the father via a brother Edward Jones b 1822

Some showing on thru lines some not. due to trees not going back that far or having different parents
Tho now I have to find a grandfather for him trees suggest Reubin JONES .b USA & died there  ( unlikely ? )

Gadget ..maybe this is when ..aps kick in

Heres the link to dna results for anyone who s interested

If you go here:

http://www.clwydfhs.org.uk/miscellanea.htm

and click on

Patronymic Paranoia

you'll get some interesting  info on the aps  :)

The more west you go the longer the patronymic form existed. Mine are mainly from Merionethshire.

I come from a coal mining family on one line. My Dad had lots of stories about the mines. I have a copy of my grt grandfather's diary for 1900 with lots of info about his work too.
