Turkeys on crash diet..............
« on: Monday 05 October 20 06:40 BST (UK) »
Farmers are putting turkeys on crash diet and killing them early so they aren't to big for a potential "Rule 6" Christmas dinner.

I haven't had pumpkin pie for about 20 years. All the major retailers here don't sell it any more - "no demand, Mate". When I was younger it was a way of marking the seasons. A thing to look forward to before Christmas.

I do miss it.

Oh! What a loss! I wonder why there's no demand?
Probably being naïve here...

Cottage Life Magazine - Oct 2020 - did a survey via Instagram  ::) asking "what is your must have pie for Thanksgiving dessert?".   The results are in....

46 percent pumpkin pie
14 percent apple pie
14 percent pecan pie
7 percent strawberry rhubarb pie
3 percent sugar pie
11 percent "other" pie
5 percent went rogue and gave an answer that wasn't any sort of pie - the list included pumpkin cake, pumpkin cheesecake and pumpkin ice cream....pumpkin is very popular :)

Wish I could send you a piece of Mom's pumpkin pie Maureen!!    :) :)  Her pumpkin cheesecake is very delicious too!!

"never had pumpkin pie"

Oh gosh, that's too bad.  It's one of the best - right up there with rhubarb and blueberry.
