DIARY MONDAY 5TH
« on: Monday 05 October 20 10:03 BST (UK) »
Diary Mon 6th
I am starting todays diary with something completely stupid, might give someone a laugh on a dull and dreary day after having had yet another rainfall earlier

For those who are superstitious did you know the rhyme about cutting nails on certain days, Friday and Sunday are NO NO days,    Tuesday is the best day, from memory, (heard it on the radio)  all to do with finance, so get your scissors ready for tomorrow!!

Does anyone know the full rhyme?

Cut your nails on a Monday, cut them for news.
Cut your nails on a Tuesday, a new pair of shoes.
Cut your nails on a Wednesday, cut them for health.
Cut your nails on a Thursday, cut them for wealth.
Cut your nails on a Friday, cut them for woe.
Cut your nails on a Saturday, a journey to go.
Cut your nails on a Sunday, you cut them for evil,
For all the next week you'll be ruled by the devil.

I've never heard that poem or saying before.
Some of the things on the news are SO depressing. This morning they were saying on tv, part of the reason that care homes won't let visitors in , is the homes can't get indemnity insurance as the insurance companies won't give them insurance for covid. So they say that they can't let visitors in as if the visitor then caught covid, the home would be liable and be sued!! They had a man on tv who'd been married for 60 years but hadn't seen his wife who's in a home since March. He was arguing the staff at the home could see his wife and they are tested weekly for staff, monthly for residents. He was saying could he not be tested like the staff and then if negative , visit. I'd thought it might be to do with the cost of the ppe needed, but no it was the indemnity insurance they were saying was the issue.

LM, I think you've been taking a leaf out of my book in muddling up the dates!   :D  So easy to do these days.

I've never heard the rhyme but will try an make a point of cutting my toenails on Saturdays then maybe I'll have a holiday to look forward to sooner rather than later! (I don't cut my fingernails, I file them  :) )
