Date please, CdV by Hunter of Hexham
« on: Monday 05 October 20 11:44 BST (UK) »
Please could I have a date on this lovely lady?

My (inexpert) thought is that it could be late 1880's or possibly very early 1890's.

I know that Hunters were established in Fore Street Hexham by the mid-1880's at least.

The back of the card is completely blank.

Thanks for any help you can give  :)

Lovely image.

I particularly like the elaborate work at the top of the bodice and around the neck.

I forgot to add to my original posting that no restoration or colouring is needed, please.

I think 1890's.
She doesn't have a bustle which you would see if this was 1880's.
That's because she has hip - padding instead, typical of the 1890's.
I would suggest early decade.

Lovely photo, beautiful dress, pretty girl  ... extremely severe and unflattering hairstyle (not many could pull that off).  ;D
