can't make out the occupation of Lydia Tuxford aged 45
« on: Tuesday 06 October 20 14:36 BST (UK) »
I have yet another 1841 census I cannot read.  I have done my best to enhance the very faint original which was on line but still can't make out the occupation of Lydia Tuxford aged 45.  In the 1851 census she is a lodging house keeper at the address in West Street where she is in 1841.  But the occupation in 1841 looks like two words and the first might be 'beer'  ???

The enhanced image by ShaunJ is amazing and clears things up.  Can you also, please, confirm the names under Lydia as Caroline, Thomas, Peter and Francis and the occupation of Thomas.  I know about the first three as her children but Francis is new to me.  A shame they don't list relationships in 1841!

Thank you very much!

The 1841 Pigot's Directory for Lincolnshire has Lydia Tuxford listed as a Retailer of Beer in West Street, Boston.

The snip I posted is not enhanced - it's from The Genealogist whose image is perfectly clear.

The children are Caroline 15, Thomas 15, Peter 13 and Francis 12. Thomas is a "plumber ap".

Thank you!  I'm not familiar with The Geneologist website so perhaps I should investigate them.
