Diary > Tuesday 6th October
« on: Tuesday 06 October 20 23:50 BST (UK) »
Slept late this morning, I knew it wasn't particularly early when I woke, I could tell by the light, but it was about an hour later than I thought. Ah well, nothing to rush for. Caught up with the news, sometimes I wish I hadn't bothered when I see things like the swaggering Donald Trump trying to convince everyone that he's recovered. More interesting to read later was that one of my local hospitals is the first in the UK to offer REGN-COV2 to patients- the antibody treatment used on Trump. Patients are asked if they would like to take part in the trial to determine its effectiveness as it is considered safe.

Out for usual walk, not too long as I'd arranged with my friend J to do our weekly longer walk later. It was quite warm and the sunshine was lovely. Tested out my new trainers, was very aware of my feet at first but soon got used to them.

Had lunch and did some more painting, it hasn't turned out in the style I intended, have made revised plans for a second go. Did some deadheading in the garden and bits of tidying up, was feeling quite tired so came inside for an hour before going to meet my friend. I had a message from Amazon to say my parcel was three stops away, I'd forgotten about it, it was a book I'd ordered weeks ago. When that changed to two stops I looked at the map on the tracking information - the driver was 100 miles away on the A1! Better not comment on how quickly he got here!

Went to meet J, we had a good walk, we try to vary the route. Went through some woodland that we've been to before, it was so dark in one part, there were rows of thick conifers and the sun was really low. Much brighter further along.

Back home, flopped on the sofa with a bowl of spag bol and a glass of wine, just fancied one. TV, bath and bed to read.

Hope others have had some sunshine too and a good day. Have been wondering how RTL has been getting on since the local lockdown was imposed, I don't think we've heard from her since. Hope it's not too awful,

Sometimes a long sleep does you the world of good! Glad to hear you had a good walk with your friend too.. Ah lovely warm sunshine... there’s a thought...
Yes, hope RTL is getting on ok with her shifts and bus journeys...

I woke later than planned this morning... texted my daughter to wish her a happy birthday and said we’d speak later....She suggested after 10:30...
After I’d showered, washed my hair had breakfast then Messaged friend to say could we make coffee at 11am instead today....
Gave the conservatory a quick vacuum and sanitize ....
FaceTimed daughter ... boys had bought her about 5 or 6 house plants and hubby some clothes which most hadn’t arrived! She liked the earrings I’d bought earlier in the year made by my friends jeweller daughter ... youngest grandson was quite taken with them too....
Just two of us for coffee this morning, it was almost warm enough to sit outside but very windy so we sat indoors with the doors and windows open! After today she’s got to isolate her mums been given a cancellation for a cataract op next Tuesday ... OH went off to try out some new golf clubs he’s thinking of buying... we nattered on and it was 1:30 by the time she left...
Made some lunch... OH home quite dejected as newer clubs weren’t giving him what he was hoping so not going to bother.... goodness knows what we shall all be getting him then for his birthday!
Had a wander down the village to drop off this weeks village lottery winnings..
After lunch went and did big pile of ironing  ....
Had a game of scrabble which I won so only one behind now...
I made a curry for dinner...
Watched tv...

That’s about it for today...

Well done Caroline.... I thought you had decided to burn the Scrabble board, but only 1 behind now!! Hurrah.  :D
It is great to see Roobarb is keeping active and busy, I do hope you find it lifts your mood, as we really all need to find a way of navigating through this Winter.
Yesterday I met some friends at the cafe for a natter and a giggle, then walked along the front and back up the cliff walk.
I make some tree decorations to send to the children in OZ each year, and have embarked on the second of the three needed. If I don't post them soon they won't arrive before Easter!! Though they do have an Easter tree too.....  ;)
Made a hefty on-line order to be posted inland for their gifts too.  At least I can be assured they WILL arrive in good time.
Sending hugs to All, and hope everyone has a reasonable day.

Went to the local Inn (like a pair of mask wearing Nuclear Inpectors ;D  ;D )

After looking at all the healthy options, we thought 'what the heck' on this occasion and both opted for their tasty quality 'All Day Breakfast'  :) with unlimited Coffee (Mrs P loves her coffee).

Of course I had a pint of my usual Abbott Ale  :)

I cannot get use to buying 4 pints of milk with a Card (when I've always had/have cash for these items), strange times!  ::)

I have two £20 notes in my purse ,and a little change.Been there months and months.
I feel insecure without money ,can remember the days when there was more week left at the end of the money!
MyOH had a magic pocket, no matter where , if necessary he could always bring a £5 note  out of his pocket.
I hardly use cash, but do need more change in case neighbours shop for me .
Just waiting for son to come, flu jab at lunchtime .
Eye Specialist tomorrow. So he is in demand this week.
It annoys me  that  things are centralised so some people need to travel miles to get to the relevant hospital, when there is no direct route.
To get to Salford Royal I used to take a bus to Bury, ,Metrolink to Piccadilly ,
Metrolink to Eccles ,bus to Salford Royal.
Two and a half hours .

Nothing much happening here ,son might get me a bit of shopping as we are near Tesco ,I need writing paper,it is going out of fashion!Flipping texts!
Well just make a cup of tea and ready to go .
Cheerio.
Look after yourselves everyone .
Viktoria.

I never knew my husband carried around a secret ten pound note till he asked me to take his suit to the cleaners, had he looked in his pockets, yes, he had, well no he hadn't so I pocketed the ten pound note, that was what he got for being careless

beautiful day here, washing blowing in the wind

Caroline, hope you manage to think of something for OH's birthday, good to hear that your daughter liked her present.

Mowsehowse, lovely to have a natter and a giggle, they're the sort of things we all need to keep us going. The walking definitely helps my mood, I suffer from SAD in the winter and I'm hoping that my getting outdoors every day will help that.

Mark - Ooh, all day breakfast, sounds wonderful! Can't say I've ever had your choice of beverage with one but if that's what you like, then why not!

Viktoria, hope your flu jab was straightforward, I'm sure it will have been nice to see your son whatever the reason. Hope your eye appointment goes well tomorrow.

Louisa Maud, nice one! ;D

Yes Roobarb, a nice midday treat once a week (except when the Schools are off, unless warm enough to sit outside now), Mark

Tanks Roobarb, all went well for flu jab,in and out in seconds.
A bit of shopping at Morrison’s then home.
Just as we were getting out of the car ,nasty neighbour came roaring up the street and verbally attacked my son.
He stayed calm and said he was literally three minutes and not blocking the drive at all.CCTV brought into the argument ,son said come and look at my webcam. No, it was on CCTV  and  how my son had spoken to his wife in a very threatening manner et etcetc.
My son’s head was in the boot at the time as he got my shopping together .

I hsd been spreading rumours about him, the window cleaner had told him.
Well that is the window cleaner who was very pushy and wanted me to sack the very satisfactory one I‘d had for nearly six years.Sooo?

He was ridiculous ,screaming, son stayed calm ,I did until NN’ s wife came up and said,
( honestly I just laughed out loud) “ Don’t lower yourself ***”. ;D ;D  ;D ;D ;D
I went in ,and son followed but he did say that NN had absolutely no right to attack me as he had done on the former occasion.
Then son said something I could have smacked his legs for!
“ Why did you think it alright to attack —-( wait for it——)!
A LITTLE OLD LADY—“
It was really nasty ,I mean at my  house - little old lady indeed!.
Had son come in he would have known about it ,I did nothing outside.
But you don’t smack your children in front of people do you .
Take them in and you can do more damage. ::)

I am alright though ,but NN is a nasty piece of goods .
I am a bit worried as Inspectors have been regarding the size of his
extension .Nothing to do with me ,I thought he had gone a bit big as I asked for my utility room to be larger but was told the maximum allowed, NN ‘s is quite a bit bigger. But his does not affect me there are two neighbours directly
affected so up to them to object. He has two houses between him and me this way so I hardly notice it as my nice neighbour’s splendid roses are a lovely screen.
He is cheeky though, does not park his van near the dropped kerb, guess where, outside my house!
Wonder what he would do if he were parked outside my house, and there was nowhere else to park but his dropped kerb??? And my son went there .
I am being naughty aren’t I!

Got a longish list of things that might happen, after Flu jab, useful though.
Can eliminate other things.
Hey ho, up early tomorrow appt at Eye clinic is9 -30.

Look after yourselves and keep on keeping on !
I will.
Cheerio folks ,you can see I am really down in the dumps can’t you ;D ;D ;D

From a little old lady .
