Marriage of James Wyatt and Sarah Hunt 16/2/1803 Bloxham, Oxfordshire
« on: Wednesday 07 October 20 18:58 BST (UK) »
Dear Rootschatters,
Family search has the images for this marriage, but I am unable to bring them up on my iPad to anywhere near readable, they are just too small. I have tried to look at them on my PC but nothing comes up at all. Don't know if that's a problem with my equipment or Familysearch. So, if anyone can look it up I would be interested to see if there are any other details. My ancestor and his wife would have been married around this time going by the birth of their first child, and they lived in  Harmondsworth Middlesex, but further details are rather lacking. Any help would be very much appreciated.
Thank you.

Hi Pte,
I have been able to take a screenshot of the original marriage entry which is perfectly readable on my iMac.
It reads;
No.17 - James Wyatt, bachelor of this parish & Sarah Hunt, spinster of the same parish married by Bann duly published this 16 day of February 1803 by me James Bell, Vicar.
Both signed theri names.
In the presence of Robert Baughin and Sarah Wyat - their marks (X)

I can send a copy if you send me a PM with and email address.

There's a baptism at Bloxham, it is ten years after the marriage.
9 Aug 1813
Rebecca, daughter of James + Sarah Wyatt
abode Bloxham
father a Mason

For your Harmondsworth couple, have you considered
8 Sep 1805, St Martin in the Fields
James Wyatt + Sarah Hoar
Both of the parish, by banns

Don't think any baptisms following there, but no marital status given in the register.

There were Hores about in Harmondsworth!
A baptism there, 22 May 1785
Sarah of Wm & Ann Hore, Labr.

Jonw65, thank you for finding a possible alternative for my ancestors marriage. It would mean that their first child was born after a "short pregnancy", but such a situation has never been out of the question. I will see what I can find regarding this Sarah's background as the Harmondsworth connection is rather compelling.
