Who is the second witness?
« on: Thursday 08 October 20 10:30 BST (UK) »
Hi, first witness looks to be Jho Suckling, the bride’s father was John so that makes sense.
Can anyone read the second witness?
Grooms name was Digby.

Thanks

The first name looks more like Tho - Thomas to me. I think the second may have Samuel for a given name - not sure about the surname.

The first witness is Tho Suckling (Thomas, not John).

The second witness may be Samuell ...[?]cock (Allcock? Babcock?) – does he appear elsewhere in the register?

FreeReg transcribe the witnesses as Thomas Suckling (presumably they think it says Tho?)
and Samuell Glasscock.

They also have Samuel(l) Glasscock witnessing half a dozen marriages in Finchingfield over a few years. Not sure if that's enough to make him a regular, two of the others were also Suckling marriages.

presumably they think it says Tho?

In line with Old Bristolian and Bookbox :)

For those of us who aren't (like me!), don't forget FreeReg.
Very good free site for Finchingfield!
