Hello again, 
Well I still haven"t heard back from Office dealing with this.  Should I re-apply?
I did try email but haven't heard back from those either.  They haven't presented  the cheque either.
Would be nice to know something ..
I do completely understand that because of the pandemic there are quite rightly other priorities,  it would be just nice to know it can be done, or no we can't do it.  Or re-apply.......

There are people that have applied for records before you did who still have not heard, you may just have to be patient.  I certainly would not be reapplying. 

They do not normally present the cheque until they start processing it, if they have a problem with the application they will contact you and if the cheque needs renewing they will tell you.

I would imagine that they are getting a lot more 'Family history' applications than they would normally get, I have certainly considered applying for a couple of records but so far have resisted temptation.

Just to let you know that today  - fourteen months after applying, we have received the requested WW2 records.  Be patient, they will arrive eventually !
