Do the people on those cruise ships disembark? Or are they just cruising around looking at land from afar?

I presume because there doesn't seem to be any cruising going they are laying to with staff on board to keep things turning over, I also assume someone  is taking stock out to them, they do move on I think after a few weeks,  I know at Teignmouth they do move on from time to time and others take their place

Mark, congratulations to you and the parents on the little bundle of joy!  :D :D How lovely to have such a happy news during these challenging times.

I seem to be late in catching up with everyone else, the conversation has gone ahead in leaps and bounds!

Mckha, I think from what I've read is that the ships aren't cruising as such, they just keep anchoring off various coasts as the berthing fees would be too high, I don't think they actually have passengers. I'm sure mowsehowse will correct me if I'm wrong.

I have heard that too Roobarb.

Or else they are Russian Warships in disguise!!
They do that you know ,spying on us .
They swan up and down the  Channel to  see if we have any planes yet on the big aircraft carrier The Prince of Wales .
Mind you we swan up and down too to monitor them swanning up and down
whilst they monitor  us swanning up and down monitoring them.

It is called surveillance  ;D ;D ;D ;D
Well kitchen put to bed and then warm milk and a nice read and bed .
Goodnight all, sleep well  and  a good day tomorrow.
Viktoria.

I love this idea of everyone swanning up and down checking out whose doing what thinking no one knows what they’re swanning up and down for....
Swanning and preening... my ships bigger than your ship....
I’ve got a bigger tower than yours look at mine ....
You’d better be scared of me swanning up and down in your water... what
Mr Mannering get that boy out there to check it out....😂😂😂

Sorry couldn’t help that...
Very good Viktoria... you must have been sober to write all that swanning so beautifully...

Sounds like a pair of pensioner neighbours looking at each through the net curtains  ;D .

That Aircraft Carrier sprung a leak today.

I love all that swanning up and down Viktoria.  :D

As far as we know the cruise ships have only a skeleton staff on board.

They seem to stay for a very long time, or sometimes they move along the coast for a while and then return again.

Still 3 round the corner off Babbacombe, and currently 4 Dutch vessels at anchor in Torbay.
BORCHARDT in Poland/Germany, BOSKOWITZ in Czechoslovakia, Hungary + Austria, BUSS in Baden, Germany + Switzerland, FEKETE in Hungary + Austria, GOTTHILF in Hammerstein + Berlin, GUBLER, GYSI, LABHARDT & RYCHNER in Switzerland, KONIG & KRONER in Germany, PLACZEK, WUNSCH & SILBERBERG in Poland.

Also: ROWSE in Brixham, Tenby, Hull & Ramsgate. Strongman, in Falmouth. Champion. Coke. Eame/s. Gibbons. Passmore. Pulsever. Sparkes in Brixham & Ramsgate. Toms in Cornwall. Waymoth. Wyatt.

Thank you Roobarb, yes, what a time to be born!

Keep your chins up everyone!

Keep safe too, Mark

[Just realised looking at the Calendar and the date on my milk 26th October, the 9th October (this Diary) must be a week ago]

Sprung a leak!!!!
They don’t make things like they used to !
Now are you sure it is the ship ,what did it say, because HM is of an age for that sort   of thing to happen ,was it “HM The Prince Of Wales  “ or “ The Prince of Wales” orThe  aircraft carrier —— ?
I mean- there is Victory ,all shipshape and Bristol fashion at several hundred years old and our newest and best (?) has sprung a leak!
I do not want to accuse HM of incontinence over and above his usual kind.
I am a Royalist, look at the possible alternatives - just having a laugh and when you see the one across the pond thank goodness for what we have got.
I’ll bet it was made in China you know.
Viktoria.
