If a person has changed their email do messages bounce as in a standard email? I realise some email accounts are unlimited so an old unused email account will never fill up.

Messages, such as message facility on here, or email, such as out in the big wild, world wide web?

If email, what provider is it (after the @)

Pauline

RootsChat messages are linked to your username, and NOT to an email address. ;D

If you try to send a message to a new user (less than 3 significant posts) then you will get an error message that their inbox is full.
I presume that is what you are getting at?

What I mean is that if a member has changed their email and the email address that Rootschat has is no longer valid and bounceing messages back to Rootschat does it show up to me.  As in I would be told that the messageee could not be informed by email that they have a message. I appreciate that many people are just slack at responding, but wondering if the messages rootschat sends to members could just be going into a void. I get told of any activity on rootschat on my email account. Would I be told that the email you have for a member is no longer valid and that they will only see my message if they log on to Rootschat?

RootsChat messages don't go into anyone's email?
What you might get is an email notification (I don't because I have turned off all email notifications).

Messages are still sent to a user, and remain within RootsChat.
As I said - there is no link between messages and emails.

It is the notifications I am referring to. Does rootschat let members know that the notification sent to another member could not be sent.

Ah! Notifications! ::)
If you had said so in the first place . . . . . ;D

The notification is from RootsChat to the member.
If there is a problem, then RootsChat will learn of it.

But the message will still be on RootsChat - the user simply has to login and check their messages.
Of course, if they don't login then they won't see any messages.

If you are having problems, I suggest you go to the Home Page and click on "Contact Support".
