Missing Parish Marriage Records

Can anyone help in locating the marriage records not banns of the St Matthews Church Bethnal Green. I have located the banns 06 June 1831 for George Wall and Elizabeth Marklew but l really need to find the actual marriage details, so l can find out his father's name.

The marriage records are not missing. The entry for 6 June 1831 that you see online is the full marriage record, as entered in the marriage register – it is not the banns. Before 1837 you won’t normally get a father’s name on a marriage record, unless one of the spouses was under age and required parental consent to marry.

Civil Registration was only introduced 1.7.1837.  Prior to that date there were no marriage certificates - only entries in the parish register.  As stated above - fathers names were only shown in certain circumstances

I think the only option is to try to find a baptism for him.  That gives the father's name, although not always the mother  ::)
