Note in Back of Frame
« on: Sunday 11 October 20 23:38 BST (UK) »
Hello! My great grandfather loved all things photography. He had a collection of daguerreotypes but I could never identify the people in the photos. Today though, my luck changed and I found this in the back of one of the union cases! I can make out some of the writing but any help with the rest would be greatly appreciated!

Welcome to Rootschat  :D

The bottom bit looks like Mr. Albert Bootles, Lebanon, Ohio

Annie is more difficult.  The surname appears to start with Gl and possibly ends in y.  I can also see after the name, by her friend in 18 ? 1864.  Either the word after 18 is years or it is a month, possibly a short form of January?

I would agree that the date is the 8th February 1864.

What does the picture look like?  Is it a wedding one or a portrait of some sort?

How about this:

Presented to Annie Glenny (?) by her friend in the year 1864
Annie (and) Albert
the 8th day of February 1864
Mr. Albert Booth's picture Lebanon Ohio

I thought Bootles at first, but Booth would be a commoner name and a possessive 's' may go better with 'picture'.

I thought Glenny too.

There is a marriage - 1865
Albert Booth and Anna Glenny

I wonder if this is the couple or relevant.

That marriage looks very interesting. Perhaps the photo is an engagement one then.
