hi everyone ,im just reseaching my family tree and the gentleman above are all my great great great great great grandads , nathaniel also had a son called nathaniel who married an annie maria innes . nathaniel  senior married jane mcdougall .Francis married Harriet Newsome and Hugh married a Mary Collins they were both born about 1823 in ireland .......
 ive got everyone up till Hugh so was wondering if anyones came acroos this line before and got any info ????? as far as i know they were from the Ballintoy area of Ireland

Sorry, a little confused.

Nathaniel married Jane McDougall

Francis Lamont married Harriet Newsome

Hugh Lamont married Mary Collins.  Both born around 1823 in Ireland (?)

How are these men all your great great great great great grandads?

Have you got any more rough dates, and what child are you descended from?

Morni g , maybe one or 2 greats than meant lol ...  sarah Lamont ( Nathaniel jnr S daughter)  was my gran .... so Nathaniel jnr was my great grandad , Nathaniel senior great grandad and so on  can give you all the dates but am at work at the mo ..... not sure if Hugh married Mary Collins or a Mary Robertson , still gotta suss that out .....

Nathaniel jnr born 1896 married Annie Maria innes , that’s my great grandad , his dad Nathaniel born 1865 married Jane mcdougall that’s my great great grandad , his dad Francis Lamont( 1845)  married Harriet Newsome great great great grandad his dad Hugh .......

Just checking.
Nathaniel Lamont married Annie Maria Innes in Milton, Glasgow in 1918.   Was he born in Scotland or Ireland?  He, presumably, dies in 1940 aged 43 - is that where you got his birth year, or from other information?

OK.
Found them in 1901 Scottish census, Nathaniel jnr born Rutheran, Rubestin (Rutherglen?), Nathaniel(about 35) and Jane, parents, also born Glasgow.  Have you got a birth for Nathaniel jnr from Scotandspeople?

Father Nathaniel born 1865 Bridgeton.

His father Francis born about 1845 Ireland.  (According to censuses).

On the 1861 Scottish census Hugh (38) and Mary 38) with children Francis (16) and Jane (13) are all born Ireland but living in Glasgow.

Where does the information about Ballintoy come from?

Ah morning again ....
 I’ve got my grans birth certificate which states Nathaniel and Annie Maria innes as mind n dad , I got Nathaniel jnrs death certificate which states his mum n dad ( Nathaniel senior n Jane ) also got a few other bits kicking about which confirms the names ..... was speaking to someone one ancestry page who was also looking for Hugh , think he was a distant relative of one of the wives 🤷‍♂️ Was him that said about Ballintoy and someone else has confirmed there was 3 Lamont families living in Ballintoy appx 1800 , think my next step is join the Irish page but been doing my grandads side aswell ( see post about watts family in newton nottage ) so prob be a week or so before I join it ...... thanks for ur input anyway 👍

I got my gran sarah McDowall Lamont her birth certificate  army discharge papers etc , Nathaniel jnr death certificate  1940 in Glasgow he died , he had stomach cancer n they think was from the mustard gas in the war , also his marriage certificate , he also served in the 7 highland light infantry ...... what I can’t get is his birth certificate or his dad Nathaniel senior death certificate as says he died in South Africa 🤷‍♂️ I gotta run n get to work but thanks
