hi carol, no, im sorry, i have no other information other than half a sheet of A4 paper with that information on in a folder.
it was with some papers i am/was using to research my paternal grandmothers side.
it may have just been some random writing, or such, but it intrigued me, and as i am trying to get as far back with my dads side as i have with my mums, (1660), it may have been another piece of the jigsaw.
thanks
jim

You did say before 1933 so not sure this helps... a newspaper article from the Lincolnshire Echo 22 August 1933 does mention three people though not all drowned.

BATHING WARNING IGNORED
Girl Visitor Drowned In Jersey

The inquest at Jersey on Doris Margaret Evans, a visitor from Leicester, who was drowned at St. Ouen's bay yesterday, was opened today and adjourned for the attendance of three other people who had been bathing with her and who are suffering from shock.

It was stated that all the guests at the holiday camp were clearly warned by loud speaker on Sunday evening of the danger of bathing in the bay in rough seas.

hi justmej,
absolutely brilliant, and thank you for the information,
the scrap of paper didn't say how many drowned, just that there were three.
I, (foolishly), assumed that all three had drowned.
Now i have a glimmer of some information, i shall continue with my research, and thank you so much.
regards
jim

There is also this report:

Nottingham Evening Post-20th August 1931

Jersey Drowning Tragedy
Two young men and a woman were bathing at St. Ouen's Bay, Jersey, today when they were carried off their feet by breakers.
The young woman, Miss Grace Andrews, was rescued but her two companions were swept away. Their bodies have not yet been recovered. All three were visitors to Jersey.

thank you to all the contributors for giving me so much information follow up, it really is starting to get exciting...., and hopefully will be able to explain all once i have verified all sources. I think that half a crumpled piece of A4 paper will open a new chapter in my familys geneology.
thank you once again

The inquest at Jersey on Doris Margaret Evans, a visitor from Leicester, who was drowned at St. Ouen's bay yesterday, was opened today and adjourned for the attendance of three other people who had been bathing with her and who are suffering from shock.

There are a few newspaper reports on this drowning.  The following is from the Birmingham Gazette, Thursday, 24 August 1933.  Another news report states she was a native of Whitley Bay, Northumberland.
