Richard Massey Marriage - Minera 1735
« on: Tuesday 13 October 20 18:35 BST (UK) »
Hello there

I found this reference in the parish records for Coddington in Cheshire which refers to a marriage which took place in Minera.

Does anyone have access to the Minera records?  If so could you tell me what the entry in that register says?  Also is it known if Charlotte Lloyd's father, Thomas, was the vicar of the chapelry?

Thank you

FindMyPast has the burial (image/transcript) of -
1734 October 22, Mr Thomas Lloyd of Place Power buried

Would this be Thomas Lloyd,  English-Welshlexicographer who had been left Plas Power in 1720 by Mary Myddleton of Croesnearydd, to whom he was chaplain?

Thanks for that information

Yes that sounds very likely - it's very useful to have some biography!

There's biography of "Thomas Lloyd y Geiriadurwr" (the Lexicographer), in Welsh, in the National Library of Wales Journals, series 9, number 2, 1st Dec 1955 - parents/wife/son etc plus background.

Can I direct you to the article in Welsh or do you need it translated?. I've done that already but it's too long to type up here. Let me know.

Hello again

I'd love to have the essential infomation about his immediate family.  I don't understand Welsh and I don't want to put you to too much trouble.

Thanks in advance
