WILLIAM ASTON BORN 1710 IN OLDSWINFORD

Hi

I am looking for the birth of William Aston who was baptised at St Mary's Oldswinford 20/11/1710. Parents Thomas and Elizabeth. I cannot find any records for this on Anc, FindMyPast or family search. If you do find this could you search for the marriage of his parents.

Just one small point Old Swinford is in Worcestershire, this record is on family search and seems to agree with a tree on Ancestry.

I think the records for 'Acton' is a non starter as i have checked a couple of family tree's and it does appear side by side with several siblings with the same surname.

I have a CD for Oldswinford, and there are no baptisms on 20 Nov 1710. 

The one immediately before that date is the one already mentioned, but transcribed on the disc as William ASTON, baptised 14 Nov 1710, parents William & Elizabeth.

Some of their other children - per Ciderdrinker's post - also have slightly different information recorded:

Methinks I have to see the original records with my own eyes to work out what's going on here.

Further to that we seem to have incomplete records on Anc, FindMyPast and Family History, In her book "Skidemore Families of the Black Country" Linda Moffatt says

"Margaret,  baptised  18  April  1715.  She  married  William  Aston (perhaps  the  son  of  William  and Elizabeth  (Aston)  Aston,  baptised at  St  Mary's,  Old swinford on  20  November  1710)  on  10 September  1733 at  St  Mary's,  Kingswinford.  Nine  children  of  William  and  Margaret  Aston  were baptised at St Mary's, Kingswinford between 1736 and 1758."

Now i have checked but can only find 2 children Baptised at Kingswinford Thomas Aston (19/12/1736) and Esther Aston (11/6/1738). May i ask for more assistance from you all???

Yes I'm on line at the Library about once a week thanks to Covid restrictions  so I'm abit late getting back to you.
I looked on line too but in the end I went home dug out my copy of Kingswinford baptisms and went through year by year.
And it's the spelling that is the problem.
They married in 1733 and had their first child
William Asten 4/8/1734
Thomas Aston 19/12/1736
Esther Aston 11/6/1738

then a gap even though I did look through it several times

Mary Aston 12.7.1749
Then the surname spelling changes to Asson or Assan
David 21/11/1749
Elijah 12/4/1752
Priscilla 22/6/1755
Sarah 24/9/1758 when Margaret would be 43.
