Alexander Ross born 1870 Victoria goldfields.
« on: Friday 16 October 20 22:16 BST (UK) »
Hi,
Just wondering if anyone can help me if possible, I am trying to find the marriage and death of Alexander Ross born in 1870 Morrison's Diggings on the Victorian goldfields. His parents are Alexander Ross and Jessie Cairns. The family moved to New South Wales about 1875-1877 and settled in the suburb of Balmain, Sydney. He is mentioned being married in his mother's funeral notice in 1911 (Sydney NSW) but it does not mention his wife's name.
There are so many named Alexander Ross in the New South Wales BDM's  that I just can't find which entry refers to him.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks Aileen Robson  (tangles)

NSW 1902 ER   :) DALLEY, polling Balmain North

Alexander ROSS 61 Beattie St,  Barber

NO others surnamed ROSS listed on that 1902 roll at that address.  Possibly pointing to his marriage  being more recent than 1902 .  The 1902 roll reflects the NSW 1902 Act giving females the right to vote.

Alexander is supposed to be buried Pesbyterian ROOKWOOD, but he isn’t showing in their search facility.

Maybe an email to them with the details from TROVE, would be useful, as he may be buried with his wife: info@rookwoodcemetery.com.au

His sister Euphemia is there, buried alone:
