Hi there,
I am trying to find a birth/baptism for my ancestor James Kimmings (also spelt Skimmins in some records). He had a son John Kimmings in 1788 in Orsett, Essex.
The name has been mispelt many times so it might not originally be Kimmings. Some family trees on Ancestry think his wife was called Caroline but I can't find any records to back this up.
My theory is that he has come from somewhere else before Orsett but have no real idea.
Any help would be hugely appreciated.
