Alder Way, Carshalton

Can anyone identify this road on an old map? It was there in 1949, that's all I know.

Can't find any mention of it. There is an Aultone Way - might that be it?

It's written very clearly as Alder Way, Carshalton on a birth certificate.

Nothing coming up on an address search on the 1939 register or on the 1911 census.

I can't see any mention in online newspapers either. 

I do wonder if Shauns suggestion is right,  when the person registering the birth gave their address as Aultone it was heard as Alder

The Minister of Transport hereby gives notice that he proposes to make an order under section 153 of the 1961 Town & Country Planning Act authorising the stopping up of Maple Close, Alder Way, Birch Crescent and a section of Willow Way to enable residential Development to be carried out in accordance with permission granted to Carshalton U.D.C. by Surrey C.C.

It may have been one of the roads off Culver Avenue which is off Green Wrythe Lane. 

A quote from Helier Memories says " I used to live in the prefabs at the bottom of Culvers Avenue in Birch Crescent."  one of the roads mentioned by KGarrad. All the roads there were named after trees.

I can see those 'tree' streets on both old and new maps, but not Alder Way. I have just asked someone who said they were prefabs, so they might not be on the map.
