Hi, hoping someone could confirm the following as wanting to do a family tree Xmas present.
Albert Norbury was born 16th june1921, Lancashire. Tho on 1939 census his date of birth appears as 18th June, not 16th June. I believe his mother to be Martha Redfearn July 1877 from bakewell, Derbyshire.
At first I believed her parents to be Samuel redfearn and Elizabeth Turner. However I realised on her marriage bans to James Norbury her dad is listed as Joel Redfearn, farmer. There is a Joel redfearn 1844/5 born to Joseph redfearn and Mary Newton. However there's been a transcription error on the gro which reads as TOD not Joel. I have found Baptism records stating Joel in Derbyshire. However there's two, one in November and another several months earlier. Parents are the same names so unsure why two different records. Joel Norbury married a Harriet Gregory. There is a Martha Redfearn on GRO 1877 mmn Gregory but there is two other Martha Redfearn, from bakewell around the time this Martha was born. One being to Elizabeth Turner who married Samuel Redfearn.
I couldn't check gro for Albert Norburys mmn as it doesn't show for 1921 but an Albert Norbury is listed with Martha on 1939 census.
Would be really helpful to have confirmation that Martha's parents are Joel and Harriet Gregory if anyone can help.
The only thing that puzzles me is Martha is not on the 1881 census with her parents??
