Yes - Everly Brothers

Simon and Garfunkel

Scott McKenzie -San Francisco

Oh dear I'm going to be like this all day now. It's BillyF's fault for starting this.

I can`t say I have ! I wouldn`t have minded being Billy Fury`s agent !!!
 :)

Oh BillyF --- I loved Billy Fury!

I take it you did also --I wonder if that is why you are called BillyF!
Yes, you`re right ! Loved him from age 13, now 75!!!

Thanks Pennines!! It passes the time when it`s so wet !!

Also liked the Everly brothers and Roy Oribson, who I saw live in the mid 60s.

Tom Jones was the one I was thinking of who`s got better.

In the last few minutes I`ve found myself listening Paul Anka, he`s 79 now, wonder what he sounds like today ?

Billy -- I have just listened to that version all the way through and it literally brought tears to my eyes. His expression, demeanor - voice -- it was beautiful. Thank you so much for the link.

Its hard to say what is my favorite song from way back when but I do like this.  I was 19 when it came out  and was a huge hit in Canada.

My wife is related to this singer.  My wifes great grandmother and her great grandfather were brother and sister.  She had one major hit in Canada but I know she was on British TV for years.  This was her hit over her

I think I was 18 when it came out.

We usually associate Gene Vincent with Be Bop A Lula, bu I was amazed to find this !

Jim -- I take it you are from Canada?

In the UK - your wife's relative was VERY famous indeed! Had loads of hits - and then presented TV shows! A wow of a relative.

Billy -- I agree I never knew Gene Vincent sang that particular song either.

(It's been a tuneful day).

EDIT -- I've just remembered the name of one of the groups I used to love -- my aging brain could not bring it to mind --- Smokie --- I just loved all their songs.

Yes we are in Winnipeg where we had our first snowfall last night that looks like its here to stay.
I knew Cila Black was a British Icon and I think the reason she did not have a huge number of hits in Canada/US  was Dionne Warwick was singing many of the same songs and she was getting the hit in North America.  An example was Anyone who had a heart.

Cilla Black was underestimated in my opinion. As for Dionne warwick - not my cup of tea at all.

Here in Wales we`re halfway through or firebreak. Last week was so miserable, it never seemed to stop raining!

Looking for something different to cheer myself up I came across this , another of my favourite sings.

I don`t know who Sarah Collins is, I just wish I could sing!!
