Immigration for Anniversary Day 1912
« on: Tuesday 20 October 20 02:18 BST (UK) »
Does anyone know of any ships arriving into Auckland on Anniversary Day 1912?  My grandmother's brother wrote a letter and in it says his mother arrived in Auckland on Anniversary Day (29 January) 1912.

Whether she arrived in Wellington and somehow travelled to Auckland, arriving in Auckland on Anniversary Day, or whether her ship sailed directly to Auckland (was that done then?) I'm not sure.
Therefore I'm looking for a ship arriving in Auckland on the 29th or elsewhere not long before then.  I've exhausted Ancestry & Family Search immigration records and not found what I'm looking for.

TIA

oops from the UK, presumably London as that's the port where her husband left from 8 months prior.  Found her husband's mother, sister & brother coming here in 1913 but can't find her record for in between.

Thanks re Paperspast.  I was just starting to sift through there when I had to go out.  Will keep looking through it.

Thank you Lucy I haven't been on here in a very long time.  Had forgotten all about it and came across it again in a google search.  Clearly I didn't transfer that information to my file with everything else and I'd forgotten all about it.  Sorry for the double up and thank you for picking it up for me.

That's okay ... but someone else had done the work of finding it before me.   ;D :)

Incidentally - date of arrival was in fact 29 January 1912.

Seems there was an influx of ships into Auckland at that particular time.   Can't see a passenger list at PapersPast - perhaps not published due to that  ... and the "Mamari" also had in excess of 400 passengers !
