Thank you majm, Neale1961 and jamjar for your excellent research.
It seems as if Charles Henry died in Godstone in 1897 aged 16 and at 1881 I couldn't find the Vine family either but Charles Henry seems to have been living with an aunt in Caterham in 1891.

I had a look to see if I could find the family on 1881 census but no luck either I'm afraid 

James VINE 24 (father Charles) & Alice Lucy CLARKE 20  (father Simon Frederick) married on 24 Dec 1876 at St Mary Caterham Surrey

Their address on m/c Caterham - not much help there
