Jack Hetherington for a clean and possible colour, please
« on: Thursday 22 October 20 16:34 BST (UK) »
Hi friends,

This is Jack Hetherington.  He was my great aunt's fiancé.  Sadly he was killed in 1918, before they could marry.  He has no known grave, and is commemorated on the Arras Memorial.  He was 21 years old.

I would be very grateful if he could have a clean-up, and also coloured, if possible.

Thanks for looking

Judy  :)
Best wishes, Judy :-))

Here's Jack tidied up and coloured.   The badges probably have a specific colour ... if you find out what colours I can add them, cheers, Ian

Hi Ian

Thank you so much for this lovely restore and colouring.

I think that the badges would be very much like you have coloured them.

You have done a great job - thanks again!

Judy  :D

Best wishes, Judy :-))

Hi Carol,  :)

Yes, his real name was John, but was always known as Jack, apparently.  And yes he was in the Manchester Regiment.

He is actually a Sergeant but listed as Corporal  ??? They don't always get it right do they  ::)
I think that might be a number 5 on the patch which might help. I thought the details might help with colouring.

I didn't realise that, Carol. I have always gone along with him being a corporal.  Ashamed to say that I don't know much about army ranks.

I have another, earlier photo of him, where he has just two stripes.  So it seems as though he was a corporal at some time.
