Richard Sinnott/Synnott/Sennett from Tipperary. Died around 1852-1854
« on: Thursday 22 October 20 23:35 BST (UK) »
Looking for Information on my husbands Great x 4 grandfather, Richard Sinnott/Sennett/Synnott.  We know he did not immigrate to the USA and died in Tipperary.  He was married to Honorah/Norah and was probably about 40-42 in 1852.  The family came to the USA in 1853/1854 timeframe and settled in Western, Pennsylvania.  He had 5 children - John, Catherine, Margaret, William and Helen/Ellen.

Thank you!  Irish Lynn

Hello again  ;D

If Richard died after civil registration of deaths started in 1864- deaths 1864-1870 are index only but eventually certificates should be added (1871/1877 just added)
https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/civil-search.jsp
Put s*n*t into surname box to get range of spellings.

County Tipperary registration districts are Borrisokane, Callan, Carrick-on-Suir, Cashel, Clogheen, Clonmel, Nenagh, Parsonstown, Roscrea, Thurles, Tipperary, Urlingford.

If they were Catholic you might find something in parish registers but few Catholic ones recorded deaths-

Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

... He was married to Honorah/Norah ...

A possibility in Gambonsfield and Kilcash (Kilsheelan) RC parish in the counties of Waterford and Tipperary, 10 July 1841, John baptised for parents Richard Synott and Honora Gorman (left page):

Same parish, same parents, Catherine baptised 1 November 1843 (right page):

Thanks Gaffy -

Yes, from some other research done we “feel” they lived near or in Kilsheleen.  The 3 children you mentioned are very likely the same family.  Catherine and Margaret made it to the USA, married and are buried in Western, PA.  We dont know what happened to John and Ellen/Helen and William may have been born in 1838-1840 and their is no birth record so far.  William made it over to Western PA and is my husbands Great x’s 5 grandfather.  Nora/Honorah came as a widow, so the history is that Richard died in Ireland before immigrating.

Still trying to get more info. On the family that was in Tipperary.

Thanks as always!  My relatives were from Londonderry.  Irish Lynn
