Contacted the local register office and asked if I could have a copy of the original but computer said 'NO!'
They just copy the details from the original to a new certificate.

It took me about 4 months, and a grovelling letter and follow up phone call to the Supt Registrar, to get such a certificate from one district by them copying the original register - got it in the end though.

Another office, like yours, only supplied hand written certificates, but when I explained why I needed to see the signature, they sent me a written certificate, but also emailed me a digital image of just the signature part of the register entry separately .
