Have any of you lovely people have a proven family relationship with 671 cms on your DNA matches ?
I am referring to DNA painter but would be interested in what anyone else has on their proven matches.
As all your point of references are always really helpful.

Hi Brigidmac,
Thank you for your response
So is this lady your second cousin also ?
I have a first cousin once removed at 514 cm proven family relationship.
Any ideas to my 671 cm 18 segs ? Am I looking at a grandparent connection ?
Many thanks

Hi,

I share 516 with my 1st cousin 1x removed (my cousin's son) and 496 with my Dad's cousin (also my 1st cousin 1x removed). Both of these are about right in the middle of the range for a 1C1R.

Dad shares 1012 with his (known) first cousin - again in the middle of the predicted range.

I would suggest that, yes, you should be looking at the grandparent level for the connection as this is possibly a half 1st cousin? That's where I would start anyway.

(It is a little high, and could even be a half aunt/uncle/niece/nephew?)

Sorry I didn't see the question
Yes our mutual match is our mothers full cousin
She hasn't got a tree and used initials so I didn't realise who it was at first
I match my full cousin be 880cm
Can you narrow your match down by location of your own grandparents

Could easily be a cousin once removed or a half cousin
Either way look at a grandparent who could link
