Felix Crawley
« on: Sunday 25 October 20 17:39 GMT (UK) »
HI

I have a brick wall and wonder if anyone can help.  My Felix J Crawley lived and died in Canterbury Kent England.  However it says on a census records that he was born in County Armagh, another just says Ireland and another Newry, Armagh.
I have him from his marraige 1st Quarter of 1872 but no trace of him prior to this.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Civil registration of births in Ireland didn't start until 1864 so for earlier dates you need to see if church records exist.
Does the 1872 marriage list Felix's father's name and occupation? Have you searched to see if other Crawleys from Ireland settled in the same area?
If the Crawleys were Catholic many parish registers are online (free)-
https://registers.nli.ie/
Newry R.C. Parish is in counties Armagh & Down)- https://registers.nli.ie/parishes/0455
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

Thank You,  I will check out the links.  I haven't found too many other Crawleys in the area.  And have only managed to get the 1837 registration of their marraige.  I will have to invest in a copy of the certificate.

Thank you for the suggestions and links.
