George Weaver Gibson
« on: Monday 26 October 20 22:22 GMT (UK) »
Good evening I hope that you are all safe. I have an ancestor George Weaver (his mother's maiden name) Gibson, he was baptised 03 May 1812, in Handbridge, Chester. His parents were William Gibson (1790-1868) Elizabeth Weaver (1791-1869). George married Margaret Brodie 23rd Jan 1849 Parish of Meliden, Parish Church of England they married by Licence. On the marriage certificate it says that Margaret's residence was Prestatyn. I can't find when and were either of them died or where they are buried. If anyone can point me in the right direction it will be most appreciated.  Also if I am asking the wrong district please let me know where I should be asking this question.
Kind regards
 ;)

In 1851 Margaret is with her parents - she was 26 & b Prestatyn  EDIT - born Scotland.  If George was a railway labourer he is mistranscribed as b 1830 - birthplace Macclesfield.  Married & in lodgings in Denbighshire

Looking at the 1851 census where Margaret is living with her Parents in  Prestatyn.Margaret is given as born in Scotland in c1825 and is given as a Mariner's wife.

William - you are absolutely right.  I mis-read where they were living as her birthplace - apologies for confusion and have edited my reply ::)

The family have moved again for the 1861 census

https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:M7VB-5DF

Have established thru SP that The parents were Archibald & Margaret Graham from Glasgow

The birth of their son, Alexander, in Sth Shields, 1835,  lists his mother as Margaret Green but I think it should be Graham.

The Mary from the 1861 census was born in Barony, 1829 & listed as child No 7

2 other children listed in Glasgow on SP were Catherine, 1825 & Isabella, 1827

Added

Daughter Sarah's bapt 1833, South Shields

Thank you all for your help. I am a bit confused by Kloumann's reply I don't know who Archibald & Margaret Graham from Glasgow are or their children Alexander and Mary.  Also I don't know what "SP" means.  Thank you and sorry for sounding a bit dim.
Kind regards
 :)
