Samuel Stephenson/Thompson - 1832, Easington
« on: Tuesday 27 October 20 00:10 GMT (UK) »
Hi all,

I am looking for the details of a baptism in Easington in 1832 of Samuel Stephenson.  The listing I have seen has the surname as Thompson/Stevinson.

At this point, I believe Samuel's mother to be Jane Stephenson.

I think there is a James Nimmo in the mix somewhere (b.1785-1790), as Samuel is living with him in 1841 and 1851.

Any help would be gratefully received. :)

Many thanks,
Emma

Just posting 1841/51 details from FS - It's a female Tamer Nimmo he is living with in 1841/1851.  1851 is transcribed as James on Ancestry but somebody has reported a mistranscription.  In 1851 he is shown as her grandson

1841    https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:MQBN-Y89

1851    https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:SGJB-WTD

Tamar was previously Stephenson - 2nd marriage

And probably her first marriage

Samuel's baptism is on both FreeReg and the BTs on Family Search

The spelling used in the register was SteVenson

Thanks everyone for your replies.  It seems to have made a very blurry picture a lot clearer!

A Letitia NIMMO was a witness to the 03 Oct 1833 Marriage.

A JANE Snaith was buried 7 Aug 1837, St John the Evangelist, Merrington
Age 74
Birth c 1763
Abode Butcher Race

So too old to be Samuels Mother.
