If it's them, the 14 years is probably wrong, since she was with her family in 1900.

Do you have a set of parents that you hope this James might belong to? Any siblings of James that might help lead us to him later?

Thats the problem shellyesq nothing more is known about him
Would his marriage certificate give us both parents names or just the father?

I would expect it would have the parents' names.  I just Googled for an image of a random New Jersey marriage certificate from that era, and it had both names.  http://lynnsfamilytree.com/dabhwm.html

Listing just the father's name seems to be more of a British thing.
