Hi All,
I've been trying to write up stories for people in my tree and have found a couple of people on my wife's who just don't fit. The more I look the more I think they are wrong and just shouldn't be there but I'm hoping someone could double check before I delete them. They are on a few people's tree on Ancestry but I'm thinking they may have been blindly copied (as I did).
The two people are:
Rabella Rutherford Beavers b.1879 in Newcastle and
John Alexander Beavers b.1879 in Newcastle.
They are supposedly the children of Herbert Beavers and Mary Eskdale who lived in North Shields.
I think the problem comes from the 1911 census because when you look at Herbert Beavers on it, Rale (Rabella) and John come up on the transcription on the same page as if they were his children but with the surname of Rutherford, however when you click on their names you are taken to the neighbouring property.
Herbert appears to be the manager of Uncle Tom's Cabin (I know!) while Rale and John appear to be neighbours at number 32 Bedford Street rather than relatives. It isn't helped by the fact that none of the three people on their page are listed as the head, they are all son or daughter.
Just to slightly complicate it further their are Rutherfords in that tree although not too close.
The 1911 census does help a bit in that it says Herbert and Mary had 5 children and all are alive, going off earlier census would be:
Robert Eskdale b.1882
Herbert b.1885
Mary Ann b.1886
William George b.1890
Clarence b.1893
Rale and John would make 7 children and I can't see them on any earlier census.
Can anyone help me by looking at the 1911 census and see if I'm now reading it right before I delete these extra two please please?
Thanks a lot,
Michael
