I've not found a death record yet- did he die in Scotland?

Aged 40 on marriage cert.

Add -aged 40 on the 1851.

Unable to make out a few letters in Christian name begins with G ***s....could almost be Guines but makes
no sense  unless someone being funny (his .father was a spirit merchant) so may have been referred to as
Guinness as a nickname. Anyone else come across a name in jest ?

One thing you are forgetting is that the father might not have been born in Ireland. There was always much movement between Ireland and Scotland so many names are found both in Ulster and in Scotland.

His father is recorded as a Spirit dealer on both certificates - so Graham or Graime/Griame(s) is my take.
