Hi,
Looking for advice on a Soldiers records from the above Barracks. On his wedding cert in Oct, 1940 he was a Soldier here. George Driscoll was his name. Born 1908.
His family would like to know of his service history here.

Any help Greatly Appreciated.

It isn't clear from your post whether the family have his service record from which his unit may be able to be found and from that some idea of his service at the time.

Otherwise, as a WW2 soldier his service record is still held by the Ministry of Defence and can be applied for  https://www.gov.uk/get-copy-military-service-records  His regiment and unit do not have to be known or indeed his  service number as long as there is a date of birth.

Here's his marriage in 1940 in Effin Co Limerick.

He's a soldier in the Irish Army stationed in Dublin.

Perfect Max, i will pass that link on.
Unfortunately that's all the info I was given they knew he was a soldier there at that time, no more, no less.

Appreciate the reply as always.

That's the only info on him as a soldier they have.

Thanks for the time and reply.

Surely not. No British Army in Dublin in 1940!
