Roobarb your friend's greyhound sounds a character
Jessie was not such a demanding fuss pot as our labradors, I suppose they are bred as working dogs so not used to it, but she used to come & stand by me and lean very heavily against my legs. Sometimes the Greyhound Rescue people stand outside Morrisons with their collecting tins and information, they always bring their dogs & I love to stroke their silky fur - often they do that leaning thing with me which makes me feel very honoured
