According to his medal roll he first went overseas with the 7/Wilts.
They were posted to France in Sept. 1915 so this is probably when he
was posted to them.
They were then posted to Salonica Nov. 1915.
The 7/Wilts. were in 79/Bde. 26/Div. The 8/DCLI were also in the same Bde.
Early 1918 the 7/Wilts were posted back to France but the 8/DCLI stayed in Salonica
so posted to them prior to the move.

Just want to say a sincere, and slightly overdue, thank you to all you kind folk who responded to my question about soldiers transferring between regiments. I don't post often but when I do I am impressed by the number of most helpful replies and which are always much appreciated.
