Family history research goals to complete in the next four weeks
« on: Monday 02 November 20 08:36 GMT (UK) »
Hi everyone
As most of us in England face four weeks of lockdown I thought I would set myself some tasks to achieve during this time frame. Then I thought it might be a good idea for us all to share some time specific goals with each other. At the end of the month we can compare our progress. This will hopefully help each other through the coming weeks.

My goals are:
To highlight everyone in my main tree that was alive in 1921 and enter the location if I know it in preparation for the census release in 2022.

To scan all my fathers 35 MM on to the PC

Looking forward to reading your goals

Regards
Panda

Great idea Panda. Everyone is fed up and moaning but we are in lockdown for at least 4 weeks.

Let's try to do use this time to achieve something. I have plenty of genealogical research to sort out.

My next 4 weeks won't change much, I will put bulbs in this year which normally I don't do,  just hope the weather allows me to do it

Haven't set any goals, did that in March and they fell by the wayside because my husband was ill.

We just have to get on with it, judging by the way time is flying by it will be gone soon hopefully

Chin up everyone

During the last lockdown I had planned to go through all of my notes and info on my elusive paternal grandfather, - (quite extensive because I’ve been trying to find him since the late 1970’s:-)

However, the weather was so good that instead, I spent most of the time in the garden...

November/December is probably going to be a bit more conducive to research... and so I’ll have no excuse!

we're not actually in lockdown but I've been living close to as if we were for months now.  I never managed to achieve much the way proper people did the last time so probably  a waste of time for me to set myself any goals.  Will just drag me down when I don't come even close.

I set myself targets at the last lockdown and failed miserably, though I did manage to lose weight and drop a dress size.  As was said earlier, the earlier lockdown coincided with a spell of good weather, so maybe a wet and dull November will encourage us to achieve our goals.  Good luck, everyone and stay safe. :)

I'm tagging the direct ancestors on all the trees I manage and adding pictures and notes where possible. Not a huge goal but any tidying up will be good

Also I could do something about all my scruffy bits of paper

I set myself a goal last week, to find an elusive relative's resting place
Yesterday my brother informed me that he knew where she is!
So that's one down and while doing that, I was on deceasedonline and not only found my 3x Great Grandmother, but my 2 X GreatGrandfather, a great uncle who won the MM medal in WW1 and my 3 X GreatGrandfather's 2nd wife, in with his first! All in the same Cemetery.
So I'm absolutely over the moon, I've been looking for them for years!
So never give up, they are out there!!
