John Davies
« on: Tuesday 03 November 20 09:03 GMT (UK) »
John Davies born Abergele to Daniel and Emma Davis
In he 1911 census his 3 , all the children of this family will give in the middle name Parry, from there mothers side
I can find a death of a John Parry Davies in 1972 in Wrexham
But to find birth with someone of this name I can only come up with John parry Davies mothers name Jones, right sort of age right name but it’s registered Corwen,
Every birth certificate I have for his 8 eight siblings have all been St Asaph
So I’m thinking maybe it’s not him, and I’ve added in the Parry name it’s never really shown on census
Plus this family Have always been a year or so out on the ages of the children in the census
Could anyone help me trace John with mothers surname Jones for a possible reference to a birth certificate I could buy
Such a common name name , there is a reference to a John Parry Davies in the 1939 registrar married and with a daughter but I’m now thinking that Corwen just doesn’t fit
Thank you

So this is the 1911?
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:X7V6-JVX

What's the given birth date of the 1939 chap?

Any idea who this lad is? Is he going by john in 1911?

Pauline J
In the 1839 John Davies 19/3/1908
Quarry man
Yes correct name  John in 1911 , his sister here is Ellen not Eden lol
No I dont know Elwyn
In the 1939 there’s a daughter
I found a few births  for the daughter’s name which  have the mothers maiden name, I suppose I could check those out against marriages to a John Parry or just John and see if I can tie him up that way
Until I have confirmation of his birth I’m thinking I can’t really go forward on researching him thanks

What I'm asking is could Elwyn be his official name, while his everyday name was John.

Do you have other Davies-Parry births in Denbighshire/ St Asaph to atttribute to a different couple?
Or is your Davies-Parry couple the only likely candidate?

The North Wales BMD has Daniel Davies marrying Emma JONES in 1884, St Asaph civil.

The North Wales BMD shows the John Parry Davies that you found registered Corwen as in the Llangollen  sub-district so I think that could be discounted

It also show two entries for a John Davies birth reg in Abergele, which is a sub-reg of St Asaph and a John Daniel Jones, 1908, St Asaph.

These are two most likely from GRO:

John Davies, Dec Q, 1907, St Asaph, 11b 300
John Daniel Jones, June Q, 1908, St Asaph, 11b 321

I see HT has found  the same record

Pauline no I don’t think it’s him
Gadget thank you , re the Corwen registration
hanes teulu guess as he was the last baby she could have given him her husbands name Daniel I did see that entry

Thank you all I think I’m going to go for that John Daniel Davies
And if it comes through wrong then I’ll go for the John Davies 1907
Thank you once again
