I would like to thank everyone who took the trouble to look up information for me on the Basch family. I learned a great deal from the links you provided.
I also added the name to this forum's family history search. Just maybe some old photos or documents have survived among the descendants and they could share copies with me.
I have traced Jacob Basch to England and his marriage to Emma Marsden in 1855, but he was not in the 1851 census. So I guess he came to England from Germany 1851-1854.
I think his parents were Isaac and Freda Basch from a town called Graetz in East Prussia. Isaac (born c 1800) was a cap maker, so from cap maker to furrier is an easy career path.
Regards,
Steven

Spent a lot of time/hours trying to bring your Basch family forward yesterday because that is one way to try and find further information or contacts.  You haven't had time to absorb all that information and start your own research into following up those leads in the obituaries.  Family search is a free valuable research tool and has lots of information.  For example to find relatives as you come forward try sites like :-

https://www.spokeo.com/

I know the sister mentioned in the obit for Barbara Anne Dua would be found using that site. Also sons may also be listed - give it a go
This is a way you can help yourself to find relatives.
