Does anyone have access to Old Salford P.R's
« on: Wednesday 04 November 20 11:59 GMT (UK) »
I am trying to find the birth of one, Henry WILLIAMSON, B.D. (a Divine of the Church), who would have been born around 1580 in Salford. He went on to become the Rector of Conington in Cambridgeshire, and married there. He had a daughter called Rose WILLIAMSON but I don't know who he married.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  :) :) :) :)

I can only find one Henry Williamson b Lancashire 1575-1585 and that is in Ormskirk 30 miles away . And his father was William Oliverson - make a note of it if only to rule him out

Baptism: 6 Jun 1580 St Peter and St Paul, Ormskirk, Lancashire, England
Henrie Williamson - Son of Will. Oliverson
Notes: [father's surname different from child]

where was Rose born - also Connington ??

You perhaps have this but it might help others.
If you read this from the foot of page 81, as I understand it Mr Thomas Williamson was one of the Fellows of Christ’s College, Manchester and probably buried at Eccles.
Henry Williamson may have been his son - it mentions 2 of 3 Williamsons
https://www.rootschat.com/links/01q04/

That then references ‘The life of Adam Martindale’ which seems to confirm three Williamson brothers

I can’t see any Williamsons in Eccles records and Salford records look to be too late

This book, on the other hand, states Henry Williamson’s father as James, brother to the previously mentioned Thomas  :-\
https://www.rootschat.com/links/01q06/

It states that Henry married Rose Sparkes and Henry Newcome was their grandson. I arrived at this somehow (not sure now where I was searching) but read that Newcome’s mother was daughter to Henry Williamson and Rose Sparkes,

Robert was the brother of Henry Williamson.
First son James, might indicate their father was James rather than Thomas  :-\
