William Holt, Oldham Lancashire

Hi All looking for help with a William Holt born possibly Oldham 1815, 1816, 1818, 1823 the dates are all over the place i have him with his son Ephraim Holt born 1855 Manchester Lancashire on the 1861 census giving his father William's birth as 1818 then again in 1871 census giving his fathers birth as 1833 i also believe William may have been married twice to a Mary & Susan last names unknown it's just getting really confusing and could really do with someone to try and make some sense of it all if possible, William Holt shows up on both his sons marriage records Ephraim Holt to Mary Tute 27 June 1874 where is fathers occupation is an Engine Driver and again when Ephraim married Prudence Mcgarragen 6 April 1889 where is occupation is an Engineer, if anyone can look over the records and help please.

Jane Ann Holt 9 yrs
Ephriam Holt 7 yrs

Most of these from Abraham back have mmn Bottomley. I can’t see Joseph and James and wonder if they are Mary’s children if she is the Taylor mother and not the Bottomley mother.

Well off Ashton Road Failsworth ,North Manchester ,there is Holt Lane .
At the end is a farm , Holt Farm or Holt Lane farm.
A fairly new housing estate has Holt in  the  names of roads and Mews.
Just wondered if any helpful connection there .

William states he is born in Shaw in 1871. This family in 1851, living in Crompton, adjacent to Shaw, have a grandson Lawrence 9 yrs and one just a baby.

There is a bit of a puzzle - if that is the family in Crompton

Baptisms
William Holt baptised 30th April 1815 Holy Trinity, Shaw
Parents Lawrence, labourer of Shaw and Nancy

William Holt baptised 6th August 1815 St Luke’s Heywood
Parents Lawrence engineer of Heywood and Nancy.

Other children are baptised Heywood with abode Crompton.

Henry baptised 1829 (non conformist) shows mother as Nancy Green.

I thought from my findings that his first wife was Bottomley.
