Gudgeon/ Cranston
« on: Thursday 05 November 20 20:50 GMT (UK) »
I have not been able to find Joyce Gudgeon born 27/8/1929 on the 1939 record. She was my husbands mother. Lived in Bradford, Yorkshire.

I have not been able to find Norman Middow Cranston born  8/6/1924 on the 1939 record. He was my husbands father. Lived in Bradford, Yorkshire.

Would there be a valid reason why people were not recorded?

They are probably recorded but the entries redacted (big black line through them) because they were under 21 in 1939 and no deaths recorded at this stage.  In those cases the entries will only be visible once they are over 100yrs old

If you Google the 1939 register - plenty of info explaining the procedure

There is a death for a Joyce which could be her, the birth year given is 1929

CRANSTON, JOYCE       1929
GRO Reference:  DOR  Q1/2008 in Bradford  (0811C)  Reg 1C002  Entry Number 202

I'm surprised that Norman hasn't already been revealed on the 1939 considering that he died in 1983. My own parents are revealed and they died in the 1990s.
